About the place: Prague Congress Centre is one of the dominant points of the City of Prague. It is located on one of Prague’s hills, which provides visitors with a beautiful view of the world famous Prague panorama where the silhouette of Prague Castle, together with a myriad of towers belonging to churches, cathedrals, palaces and ancient buildings from the historical centre, rise over the Vltava River and extensive parks. The Prague Congress Centre is one of the largest and best-equipped European centres. A group of Czech and foreign experts in the field of acoustics participated in its modification. The hall is four storeys high, rising from the first to the fourth floor. The dimensions of the orchestra shell nable large musical bodies numbering 100 musicians to perform concerts, with up to 2,764 guests being able to view them from the auditorium. Let's go a little bit abstract! I must admit that I was kind of unlucky, at least with taking some normal shots. Yes, I have a great number of shots waiting to be editted, but you know well that superb feeling if you take some photo and edit and upload it while it's fresh, while you still remember everything that you felt while taking it! And that's the reason why I'm posting this one today. It is taken with my mobile phone (shame on me, shame on me - but I really don't take my camera everywhere with me) in Prague, next to the Nuselský brigde. I just enjoyed the center-composition and later I got this great idea to duplicate it and rotate. I think that the main message of this image is that our life is full of choices and the results are different, often opposite. It shows another world, where we have taken different choices and even though it looks the same, it's just an opposite of our current life. It's an answer to the question What if I had... Enjoy the summer and my abstract work as well!
Design Office

1955 -1968, Tatra design office was temporarily located on the groundfloor of an apartment building formerly known for lookout restaurant Na Slepičárně. The building can still be found in the street Na Topolce 1, Prague 4 - Nusle, Czech Republic (see the map). Before the building is a public park overlooking the Vltava river valley where once was a dance floor for restaurant guests. The building itself is today used by Jedlička Institute and Schools (JÚŠ) for physically disabled young people in Prague which is a non-profit organisation operated by Prague City Council. Dining room of the Institute is now on the groundfloor on the site of the former restaurant and later Tatra design office.

Big Brother

City Empiria and its bigger brother - City Tower. (best viewed ) It is the tallest building in the Czech Republic (with 27 floors and 109 metres). This quite problematic project started in 1962 as a new building of Czechoslovakian Radio. The shell was finished in 1993 and the construction was stopped shortly after. Now, after more than 10 years of rottening, the building is being reconstructed - it should be completely finished by the end of 2007. I'm looking forward to that.

Ik had al op Google-Earth gezien dat er twee draaischijven naast mekaar lagen. En dat wou ik eens van dichtbij zien. Maar ik had een breedbeeld nodig om dit op plaat vast te leggen. This cab view of vintage metro train during some runs on test track after master overhaul. These old russian trains of Ečs type were withdrawn from service in 1997. Real 14 mm lens are realy useful in small places like is this cab. It is fun. :-) 少し、私は鉄ちゃんですね。 :-)
