Best viewed in the large size display The tile in the center is the original. It is the Sony tower in Berlin. I used different tools to create the eight alternatives, but each was created mostly with a single tool, using Serif Photoplus ver 10. None took long. Accurately cutting out the tile, and accurately placing it in the composite took longer, and was less interesting! The tiles are square, and are set out evenly. The skewed appearance is an optical illusion. No tile has been rotated, nor were the images rotated before the tile was cut from the larger picture I started with. I think they all show the same portion of my original, but it is hard to believe, given the apparent differences in the angle of the curves! The cutting out was done by hand, so there may be slight differences between the tiles. I think, however, that the appearance of difference arises from the distribution of light patches.
