Point State Park is a 36 acre (1.46km�) Pennsylvania state park in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The park is located at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers, forming the Ohio River.

It is said that Pittsburgh is only second to Venice, the city with the most bridges in the world. Pittsburgh has been known as the City of Bridges - no wonder, because Pittsburghers have to get from one place to another traversing hilly terrain coupled with the three rivers that flow through it. The hills and rivers that make the city pretty also can make it difficult to drive in, but to the adventurous each winding road and bridge leads to more of the Pittsburgh experience. These three bridges are pretty straightforward though - they run from the North Side to the Golden Triangle. The 6th Street (Roberto Clemente), 7th Street (Andy Warhol) and 9th Street (Rachel Carson) Bridges were built in th 1920s. Wait a minute, wouldn't that make the bridges 2 brothers and a sister? :)

I have a question for all of you Pittsburgh people out there. I don't know how well you can see it, but when I was there in Late june 05, there was a fence that went around the edge of the river, presumably to keep people from falling in. When I look at all of y'alls pictures, the fence is not there. What gives? for those that do not recognize this, this is the fountain at the point where the Allegheny and the Monongahela rivers merge to become the Ohio. Along with the block house, is the highlight of Point State Park in downtown Pittsburgh, Pa.
