May Day Celebration Havana Cuba
Made by TallGuyTosh.
I went to Havana in 2001. This was taken with my old Olympus OM20. We were there for May Day and joined hundreds of thousands of Cubans in Plaza de la Revolucion for their celebrations. Fidel Castro made a speech. I don't speak Spanish but it was clear that his speech that day continued the anti-American theme!! After the speeches we joined in the parade led by Castro (later seen on the TV news wearing his trainers - much easier on the feet for the long walk) down to the Malecon. An amazing day!

This is at the back of an enormous square used for public rallies. If you're doing the tourist tour of Havana, you'll go through the square.
