Pike Place Market
Pike Place Market is a public market overlooking the Elliott Bay waterfront in Seattle, Washington, United States. The Market, which opened in 1907, is the second-oldest continually-operational farmer's market in the country behind Soulard Farmers' Market in St. Louis, Missouri. It is a place of business for many small merchants and a popular tourist destination. Located in the downtown area, it occupies over 9 acres (36,000 m). The Market is bounded by First Avenue to the east, Western Avenue to the west, Virginia Street to the north, and, to the south, a line drawn from First to Western Avenues halfway between Pike Street and Union Street. It is named after its central street, Pike Place, which runs northwest from Pike Street to Virginia Street.Top photos chosen by u all:

Sometimes I forget what a gorgeous city I am honored to live in. Today I didn't. I got off the bus at the regular time, just as the sun was setting. I walked through the market again to see what images were happening, and the evening light was stunning. I saw Rainier (what Seattleites call simply the Mountain) framed by Seahawks Stadium (NOT Qwest field, mind you), and Safeco Field. Basically, I stood at the north end of Pike Place Market, swapped lenses, used a cement wall to steady my hands, and shot a few images, and this one came out. No postprocessing done. Shot raw and converted in Lightroom after a minor crop.

Actually Pike Place Market was our first spot for Seattle. But it was at weekday nightfall. Stores are closing and few people there. Therefore, we came again on the last day of our trip to feel the crowded market. However, it was raining.

and really funny guy. This is his first Pig's on Parade he told me, mumbling as we walked by.
