The Bay Bridge from Pier 14
Made by Bill Lim
The western portion of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge as viewed from the very end of Pier 14. Interstate 80 runs across this double-deck bridge. Technical details: Taken with a circular polarizing filter. * Olympus E-510 * Zuiko 14-42mm kit lens. I used rawtherapee's channel mixer to reduce the blue to give it an old photo feel. Image sharpening was performed with Gimp's unsharp mask. Post processing * rawtherapee v2.3 to adjust exposure, brightness, contrast, color, etc., and convert the RAW file to TIFF. * gimp v2.4.3 to sharpen, rescale, and save to JPEG. * exiftool to copy the EXIF tags from the RAW file back into the JPEG. * kflickr to upload the JPEG to flickr.com. * Linux Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibson. * Dell e1405 laptop with the 1.6Ghz Intel CoreDuo and 1GB RAM.

Tilt shift lenses from Nikon are called PC lenses. PC is an acronym for Perspective Control. As you can see here, this is precisely what they do. The cartoonish perspective seen here is the shift function, though it is probably not the intended use. :P
