At Piazza San Marco, during the day it is packed with tourists (still the size of this place can absorb the number of people with ease). At dawn, before the first ray of sunlight breaks through the darkness, this place was so quiet.....best moment to be. When it is empty, it's all mine! Go your Own Way - by CASKIE STINNETT (Grand and Private Pleasures) Travel is a personal thing, like raising a family, and to reduce it to a science, as the tour operators have done, is to make it meaningless. It is too delicate to be homogenized, sterilized, and rendered so predictable that one may as well remain in one's living room.
