Not entirely happy with today's photo - I'm trying to work out whether it's the colour effect from my Ixus 120IS; the camera itself in comparison to my D80; the subject matter; or a combination of all of the above.. Another reminder that I need to do more apart from working on work days! It's hard to capture the serenity and stillness of the centre when it's devoid of its customers in an image. That being said, it's never really still - there's always the noise of water rushing and moving.. You don't really notice quite how much until there's a power outage actually! I can't help notice the two vertical pylons and the air ducting in the composition, in comparison with the openness of the pool in the foreground.

This is a short photo shoot of the diving boards at The Adelaide Aquatic Centre. News paper reports lately suggest these boards are going to be ripped down and the diving pool turned into a lane swimming pool. This is what was happening the day I decided to document the diving boards. In late March 2011 the centre will be having a roof restoration and sadly the boards will also go at this time. A recent change in structure, red walking stair cases have been added and are not to my liking so I tried not to include them in my shots. On close inspection of the structure you can visualley decay and wear, the three meter boards floor is falling apart , and the numbers on all the boards are slowly falling off.

One of the many adornments on the ceiling of our creche at the AAC. However, this particular alligator appears to have committed suicide by hanging itself! Am I the only one who finds this slightly disturbing? Won't somebody please think of the children! Contrast increased with Photoshop. PS - Somebody correct me, if this is, in fact, a crocodile, and not an alligator!
