Parc de la Ciutadella, Barcelona (Spain). ENGLISH The original photo did not convince much to me, because as the day were something cloudy, the colors appeared very soften. Since there were no much to emphasize as far as colorful, I tried the direct turned to sepia, but it was worse. I tried then with HDR to emphasize the colors (Artizen HDR with Fattal). Too artificial, so then I applied Orton to give something more of volume and naturalness. The result did not seem to me bad, but it followed without convincing to me. Then I turned to sepia, and bang!, here is the result. *** The lake deserves a special mention because of the site it occupies in the centre of the park. In the early years of the park there used to be boats in which you could go round the lake; in 1982 this service was restored and you can take out a boat to make your visit to the lake even more enjoyable. --------------------- CASTELLANO La foto original no me convencía mucho, porque como el día estaba algo nublado, los colores aparecían muy apagados. Como no había mucho que destacar en cuanto a colorido, probé el virado a sepia directo, pero era peor. Probé entonces con HDR para realzar los colores (Artizen HDR con Fattal). Demasiado artificial, así que apliqué seguidamente Orton para dar algo más de volumen y naturalidad. No me pareció mal el resultado, pero seguía sin convencerme. Entonces viré a sepia, y zas, aquí está el resultado. *** El lago merece mención aparte por su situación: domina la explanada del parque y en sus primeros tiempos había en él barcas en las que se podia subir para hacer un recorrido por el lago; en 1982 se restituyó esta atracción y actualmente se puede utilizar las barcas para gozar más plenamente de la belleza de este lugar.

Hotel Arts seen from the Parc de la Ciutadella, Barcelona (Spain). ENGLISH The Hotel Arts is a 43-story, 600 room luxury hotel on the seafront of Barcelona, in Spain. Contrary to popular belief, it was not built to service the 1992 Summer Olympics, though its construction was part of the big changes underwent by the city to prepare the Games. It remains one of the city's leading hotels. It is operated by the acclaimed Ritz-Carlton hotel chain. Construction was finished in 1994 and it is an example of structural expressionism architecture. It was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and is 154.0 meters tall. The hotel underwent a complete renovation in 2006, installing new technology and upgrading the rooms and bathrooms into modern, über-luxurious spaces. ----------------- CASTELLANO El Hotel Arts es un edificio emblemático de Barcelona (España). Fue construido entre 1991 y 1992 a la entrada del puerto olímpico que se construyó en Barcelona con motivo de los Juegos Olímpicos de 1992. Preside dicha zona junto con la vecina Torre Mapfre, que tiene una altura similar. Consta de 43 plantas y tiene 154 metros de altura. Es una torre de vidrio de colores verdes y grises, rodeada de una estructura de hierro de color blanco, que fue diseñada por el arquitecto Bruce Graham y es sede de un lujoso hotel de cinco estrellas que abrió sus puertas en 1994. Integra también 27 apartamentos de lujo, todos dúplex, de una, dos o tres habitaciones, que ocupan las nueve últimas plantas. Situado entre ambas torres y la playa se encuentra la escultura de un gran pescado metálico dorado, obra de Frank Gehry, otro de los elementos emblemáticos del entorno del edificio.

After the heat and the arc Irene and me took some drinks at a corner bar in front of both Arc d' Triunf and the Ciutatella. The Irene's drink is called clara. It is beer with soda. And the cucudrilito thing is about a venezuelan joke about after the frog's malicious words against the Gator, the Lion said that will kill all animals with big mouth... so the frog said oh! i am so sorry about the Gator (but trying to make its mouths closer and smaller while he talked.
