First I was surprised....then I got angry, this was no April Fool's joke. I pity the poor people that have come in out of the Nevada desert, (without services available for miles), who have no choice but to gas up here. Gas in the next town, Trona, 56 miles to the south was $3.69/gal-which was bad enough. This comment is about gas prices, but is also about Panamint Springs Shell, which I think is taking advantage of the unfortunate guy who has no choice but to buy gas there. Of course there are other issues here and things are not as simple as they seem, at the time though, these prices were outrageous. I wonder about their prices now..
Water jug bees

Funny story about this. Yesterday morning camped along the Trail Canyon road i was overrun with bees when i was trying to make breakfast coffee. They were attracted to my water. I had to pack-up early to get away from them. This afternoon i was filling a bottle from the jug and two dead bees came out in the water stream! WTF? Opening the jug and peering inside were 8 more (dead) bees. Apparently they had all found their way into the jug yesterday morning. I usually leave the spigot open and just stand the jug upright when i'm in camp and the bees had found their way in but couldn't get out once i closed the spigot. Poor bees.
