La Aljafería es un palacio fortificado construido en la segunda mitad del siglo XI, en época de Al-Muqtadir, en Zaragoza como residencia de los reyes hudíes, y refleja el esplendor alcanzado por el reino taifa de Saraqusta en el momento de su máximo apogeo político y cultural. The Aljafería Palace was built as a summer residence for Abu Jafar al-Muqtadir who was the Muslim ruler of the area in the 11th century. In those times it must have been one of the most sumptuous buildings in Europe. Later it became the palace of the Kings of Aragon. Today is the seat of the Junta de Aragon Government.

The Aljafería Palace (Arabic:قصر الجعفرية Qasr Aljafariya,Spanish: Palacio de la Aljafería) is a fortified palace built during the second half of the eleventh century in Zaragoza, as the residence of the Banu Hud dynasty during the era of Al-Muqtadir and reflecting the splendor attained by the kingdom of the taifa of Zaragoza at the height of its grandeur. The palace currently contains the Cortes (regional parliament) of the autonomous community of Aragon.
