The Oriental Pearl Tower (Chinese: ��; pinyin: Dongfang M�ngzhuta) is a TV tower in Shanghai, China. The Oriental Pearl Tower is located at the tip of Lujiazui in the Pudong district, by the side of Huangpu River, opposite The Bund of Shanghai.

De Oriental Pearl Tower of de Pareltoren van het Oosten (Vereenvoudigde Chinese karakters:东方明珠塔; Hanyu pinyin: Dōngfāng Míngzhūtǎ) is een televisietoren in het financiële district Lujiazui in het district Pudong van Shanghai aan de oever van de Huangpu-rivier. Aan de overkant van de rivier is de Bund. De torentrekt per jaar zo'n drie miljoen bezoekers.[bron?] De toren is ontworpen door Jia Huan Cheng, werkzaam bij Shanghai Modern Architectural Design Co. Ltd. De bouw van de toren begon in 1991 en was voltooid in 1995. Het is de hoogste toren in de Volksrepubliek China met 468m lengte.

Today was our fairwell dinner to DHK, the sweetest and cutest guy I've met so far (I'm a guy, but I mean how he treats others and stuff like that. You know what I mean...). Wish the very best for him. As for me, I'm going to go to sleep now, cause I just got back home and it is 11:57PM. We went to Superbrand to get some KFC ice-cream... Yeah, drove back home etc. Goodnight Shanghai.

Close up view of the old city. The old city wall ran below the newly developed green park area and above the HSBC sign - now the line of Renmin Lu. The Oriental Pearl Tower, at the observation deck. Standing in the line waiting for the elevator to take us down, I had the camera ready in the right moment, and got this image of a seemingly lonely man (in fact there where lot's of traffic) walking on the glass floor, on the other side of the window. The Shanghai WFC is reflecting itself in the glass floor.

Did you ever wonder how pictures look like when they are taken with the new Motorola SLVR cellular? Here you go. I ran around in Shanghai and took some for testing. I left them absolutely untouched, I only copied them through bluetooth to my PowerBook, imported them to iPhoto and send them to flickr via FlickrExport. So no editing or enhancing at all.

I imagined taking these wonderful night shots. However, it was difficult because the glass were dirty inside and out, it was too bright inside because of the souvenir shops, and a staircase where the best spot would be.
