Continuo. Finisco, vado in doccia. All'uscita ti rincontro.

Despite a lot of experimentation with different styles of photography, I feel my passion is still the architectural and design photos. I tend also to get the most satisfying results when I go out with the sole purpose of shooting. Unfortunately this isn't often with family in tow. I will continue to post all kinds of shots but try more to focus on this genre. With that in mind, here is a view from the top floor of Omotesando Hills shopping complex. This required some stealth photography since for some reason all the best vantage points have big no photo signs around them and the place is awash with security guards or as I call them 'fun police'. I can't imagine why you aren't allowed to shoot in here. It's not that big or special and there aren't enough people even on a busy public holiday to be getting in peoples way. So many businesses would do much better if they treated their customers like Hotels do and allowed them their small requests knowing that it will generate much more good will than telling them they can't take photos because other people won't come if they know whats inside?! Anyway, enough of my rant.

Louis Vuitton - Tokyo, Japan
Made by pablo808
In 2002, the LV building in Tokyo was opened, and the brand collaborated with Bob Wilson for its Christmas windows sceneography. In 2003, Takashi Murakami, in collaboration with Marc Jacobs, masterminded the new Monogram Multicolore canvas range of handbags and accessories. This range included the monograms of the standard Monogram Canvas, but in 33 different colors on either a white or black background. (The classic canvas features gold monograms on a brown background.) Murakami also created the Cherry Blossom pattern, in which smiling cartoon faces in the middle of pink and yellow flowers were sporadically placed atop the Monogram Canvas. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Vuitton View large

Private moments
Made by Lil [Kristen Elsby]
I've been working around the clock for the past few weeks on a series of demanding projects and so I've only been able to grab a few moments here and there during my late night commute between home and the office to do a little photography. I really like the quietness of the Tokyo commute -- everyone's consumed by what's going on in their heads, whether it be sending phonemail from their keitai, reading a book, listening to their ipod, typing away on their laptops, or just lost in their thoughts ; it's really only on the last train or two, thanks to after-hours drinking, that commuters start to make a lot of noise. Construction site worker
Made by Lil [Kristen Elsby]
Many people are familiar with the stereotypical white collar workers of Japan: the hard-working suited salaryman and the uniformed 'OL' (office lady), who keep the countries corporations and business ticking over. At nighttime, an entire population of shift workers descend on the city to continue the expansion of its subways lines, and make up a large proportion of the night workforce in Japan. I encountered this friendly, well-groomed construction site worker in Omotesando Station on my way home from work late one night who was happy to chat to me and agreed to pose for her portrait. This is one of the first test shots from my new Canon 20D dSLR camera (17-85/4-5.6 IS USM lens), taken from the 9th floor window of across Harajuku and Meiji Jingu (the park is just below the high rise buildings at the horizon, forming a green band) towards Shinjuku. I'm really pleased with the resolution quality and colour accuracy of this shot. I'm really very lucky to work where I do in Omotesando...such great views of the city, especially at sunset! Dior Omotesando This photo was taken at the bridge over the street. And, this Dior is in the town named Harajuku, and is away from Dior Ginza. Omotesando is a street there, and it is known as a town that prospers in the fashion. For your information, the address named Harajuku doesn't exist though there is an address named this Omotesando. I think this to be an especially elegant building also in Omotesando. But, it was a little regrettable not to have had the tripod when this was taken.

Bathing Ape

Bape Cafe was a brand extension of the over-exposed Bathing Ape brand. The logo mark was found throughout the cafe--from the large table in the middle of the room, the inverted version on the ceiling, booth tables, napkins and crockery to the sugar cubes. The cafe just closed a few weeks ago--the food was pretty good, the interior unique and rather striking, but there were never any customers. It didn't seem to be a money-making exercise anyway. As of late the weather here has been very tolerable for the later half of the winter. The last few days have been about 18C(64F) and sunny thus making for high motivation to get out of the house and just be out and about. I am so ready for spring! Currently Listening: Sorcerer - Ride The Serpent

Looking through my pictures of people on the streets... I guess I like these with people aware of the camera, more than those stolen images. I never liked when someone notice the camera, because they tend to pose and looks too unnatural to me... But now I think I prefer the ones when people interact with the camera, react to a stranger with a camera pointing to them.

I feel like I've been locked up tight for a century of lonely nights waiting for someone to release me. If you wanna be with me, there's a price to pay. You gotta rub me the right way. Just come and set me free, And I'll be with you. I'm a Genie in a bottle. Come on and let me out. Lomo LC-A
