With the bubble car, the BMW Isetta, also known as the motocoupe, BMW conquered the hearts of thousands of former motorcyclists and bridged an economically austere situation. The Isetta was originally designed by the Milan company Iso, from which BMW acquired the license. Fitted with a 250 or 300 cc BMW motorcycle engine, this micro-car was manufactured in several versions and considerable numbers between 1955 and 1962
