One year ago today - March 24, 2006. This was the day we tested our cardboard boats from engineering class. As you Can see, this is the modified bathtub model. Using only 2 4'x8' sheets of corrugated cardboard, a small role of duct tape (10 metres), one litre of contact cement, 10ft of string, 2 brushes, and 2 latex gloves we constructed our masterpieces - the boat pictured is my design. The challenge was to race the boat for a length of 25 metres, and then have the boat hold two people for 2 or three minutes. Well this is us in our 10th? minute. We got a little cocky, and started paddling up and down the pool. Here you see kyle catching, and throwing back a ball to someone on the other side of the pool. If I remember correctly, we came first in the weight challenge, but lost out to a boat which incorporated a 10 ft spear in the timed 25 metre race.
