Nikolaikirche in Leipzig, Germany, is well worth visiting. Apart from its historical importance, this church has a very .. unique.. architecture. Let's say that the interior decorations are not exactly what you expect from the outside... Anyway, this painting by Adam Friedrich Oeser on the ceiling attracted my attention. It is just so different from the ice-cream-coloured palm trees surrounding it, it made me think that it doesn't really belong there. Beautiful, anyway. Slightly tonemapped, sharpened and cropped, of course.

The tops of the columns supporting the roof were spectacular in their detail as they were made to resemble sprigs and leaves coming out of the tops
