Umbrellas

The sculpture 'Umbrellas' or 'Ομπρέλλες' (in Greek) can be found if you walk by the port in Thessaloniki on the way to Macedonia Palace Hotel. In the area 'Nea Paralia'. Created by G. Zogolopoulos, it is 13m high and was presented in 1993 for the 46th Biennale in Venice, to celebrate 100 years of Biennale. In 1997 it was placed in Thessaloniki while the town was Cultural Capital of Europe. Nowadays you can also find it in Brussels, outside the Council of Ministers of EU. Made it in Explore #375 !!
