Paralos steam-schooner

Model of the steam schooner ''Paralos'', of the Royal Hellenic Navy. Along with her sister ships ''Panope'' and ''Salaminia'', she was built in Glasgow, 1858-1859. In service 1860-1907. Armed with a single 8.7 cm gun, she participated in the rescue of Greeks during the Druze massacres in Lebanon in 1860, and during the Cretan Revolt of 1866-1868. Towards the late 19th century she was used as a shuttle and for lighthouse resupply missions. Model from the Chania Naval Museum.
