This photo was not as good as this originally. I have digitally tampered with it to give an impression that the sunlight was shining off the back of the deer. In reality, the light was low and I had to use as low a shutter speed as the long focal length would permit.

This place seemed quite out of the world to me. Peace and tranquility ... completely. The photo, as usual, doesn't quite capture it. It was without doubt, the best part of the entire safari. If I go again, I will pay the driver to just sit here throughout the day.

This IS really my first attempt at panning, or rather the first in which their is at least the photo is worth showing. But I have a long way to go, as is evident from the snap. To begin with, I will have to use a much higher shutter speed.
