Even just across the Thai border, the Burmese town of Myawadi had a strong Indian flavour (not just the Betel chewing...). Myawadi will remain imprinted in my mind for a long time as the home of the world's (at least in my modest experience) nicest custom's officials. Genuinely friendly. It's hard to say what the worst border experience has been. Perhaps a tie with gruff Brtis at Harwich, and mean young Italian brown shirts on the Slovenian border.
