Hi guys, got some free time this afternoon! but usually I'm very busy because of school. the last shots I posted are all from my visit in Vienna. I hope you like it! I’ve been tagged once from and there are also some other people who want to know a little bit more about me. so I thought I will do the same like other flickr member: 10 facts you probably don’t know about me! 1. I collected stamps and tin cans for years ! 2. unfortunately my bicycle has been stolen, so I decide to buy a Vespa for next springtime! 3. a destination I want to go once is India! just with backpack and a map 4. I can speak 5 languages (if swiss-german is also accepted as a language) =) ! 5. I love to go to the theater and cinema! 6. since my childhood I have a bee sting allergy; so every time when I hear something buzzing around me, I just run away! 7. I will never wear high heels! 8. I broke down a camera while I was playing with my brother! (no worry, wasn’t a SLR) 9. I hate biology, chemistry and physics at school. 10. I'm writing an essay about the acceptance of the moslems in Switzerland, for my graduation diploma!

Jungfrau (träumend)

November 28th, 2010 - Vienna, Austria One of the many highlights of a fantastic long weekend spent in Vienna was discovering the MuseumsQuartier which opened just after I left the city at the end of my sabbatical novel-writing year there in 2000/1, and which I had never visited. I'll be posting more photographs taken in this vibrant cultural area over the next few days, I hope, and more than one of them will most likely feature the magical pink/blue light forms projected onto the Leopold Museum - home, amongst other things, of the largest single selection of works by Egon Schiele in the world.

Sleeping visitor in the MUMOK Museum, Vienna/Austria. Konica Hexar AF. Ilford Delta400. When I take photos with my Hexar, I never look though the viewfinder. And I do not crop the photos. This photo was published in the book The Convivial Museum. And it's one of their favorite photos (The Convivial Museum Photo Essay)!

Before I put any tags or geotag it, can you guess what it is? :-) This is straight out of the camera, no editing whatsoever, no monochrome treatment either. EXIFs don't lie, so you can tell this is no macro shot. So what is it? :-) ** Answer: detail from Columns by Zilvinas Kempinas, on display at the Kunsthalle Wien. A really fun art installation out of magnetic tape. If you google Kempinas a bit, you'll probably find a picture of the whole columns piece.

Interior of MUMOK (Museum of Modern Art), Vienna, II

Another shot of the fairly stunning interior of Vienna's Museum of Modern Art. Here you can see the banner for the exhibition - China - Facing Reality - which, while striking and occasionally disturbing, generally failed to move us. The other featured attraction - films by Keren Cytter - were absolutely horrid, some of the least effective and affective art I've ever come across. Anyway, the building was great - really fun to explore.

Cameras weren't allowed in the galleries of this fascinating museum, so I only managed to grab a shot of some interior elements of the building itself. The museum's collection is focused on modern Austrian art, and in particular has a huge and utterly captivating collection of works by Egon Schiele, whom I knew little about before my visit (Libby was already a big fan).

The new museum inside the courtyard of the Museumsquartier at night. The museum reminded me of the black monolith of the movie 2001 Space Odyssee because it looked very out-of-this-world between the historic buildings. I liked the contrast of old and new a lot. The purple color on the left wall came from lights on the floor. Created out of 7 shots.

Lovers - 1913. Tons and tons of Moser stuff was on display in this exhibit, and as I said back at the Steinhof church, it really just made you feel inadequate. The guy could do it all! In between designing fabulous prints and furniture, he found time to also be a really good painter.

Egon Schiele Detail

Egon Schiele's expressionist paintings are well represented in the Wien Leopold Museum. This details shows his decorative, almost stained glass, style contrasted with the beautiful impasto textures of the hanging laundry. I sure liked his stuff anyway.
