Salzburg és la quarta ciutat d'Àustria i la capital del land homònim. Coneguda internacionalment pel magnífic casc històric que s'ha mantingut al llarg dels segles i que des de 1997 és protegit per la UNESCO. La ciutat també es coneguda per ser el bressol de Mozart i la seu del famós festival de Salzburg que se celebra anualment. Mozart va néixer el 27 de gener de 1756 a Salzburg, Àustria. Va ser batejat amb els noms de Johannes Chrysóstomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart; i va ser l'últim fill de Leopold Mozart, músic al servei del príncep arquebisbe de Salzburg.
