Нарвские триумфальные ворота (The Narva Triumphal Gate)

The Narva Triumphal Gate was erected in the vast Narva Square, Saint Petersburg, in 1814 to commemorate the Russian victory over Napoleon. A wooden structure was built on the Narva highway with the purpose of greeting the soldiers who were returning from abroad after their victory over Napoleon. Between 1827 and 1834 Vasily Stasov redesigned and rebuilt the gate in stone covered with a sheet of copper. Nike, the Goddess of Victory surmounts the arch, in a triumphal car drawn by six horses, sculpted by Peter Clodt von Jürgensburg. The colorful decorations and flags are put up for the celebration of the 307th anniversary of Saint Petersburg. HDR from three shots, -2, 0 +2, Canon EOS 500D, EF-S10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM. Which is in the heart of the city of Saint Petersburg on the Neva, Hermitage, located one of the largest and finest art museums in the world. In more than 350 theaters including the Winter Palace are issued more than 60,000 exhibits, the library holds nearly three million objects. Among them is next to the archaeological exhibits, in addition to the Louvre or the Prado's most important collection of classical European art. Among the exhibited paintings are works by Dutch and French masters such as Rembrandt, Rubens, Matisse and Paul Gauguin. In addition, two paintings by the Italian universal genius Leonardo da Vinci and exhibited 31 paintings of the Spanish painter Pablo Picasso. The museum has about 2,500 employees. Narvskaya is one of the original metro stations from 1955 when Saint Petersburg (Leningrad) metro was opened. Under the construction the station was called Stalinskaya, but after Josef Stalin’s death in 1953 political winds changed and the station was named after the Narva Triumphal Gate, located opposite from the entrance to the station. Church of John the Baptist at Chesme Palace, near St Petersburg, Russia. Built 1777-80. Catherine II was on tghis site when she heard the news and vowed to build a commemorative church on the spot. And she did. It's a rare Gothic revival interpretation Russian church architecture. The Moscow Square is the largest square in St. Petersburg. He emerged in the wake of the General Plan of 1935, which provided the Leningrad city center here to move to the south. On the east side of the square stands the House of Soviets of the architect Noi Trotsky, which was to house the administration of the city. The Baltic railway station. It is constructed in 1857. Old part of phorography was made near 1900. New part was made today (14 July 2010). This combi-capture are part of The joint project. It is the joint project where there will be my photos, and also old photos and pictures of photographers and artists of the last century will be used.
Çeşme Church

This church was erected to celebrate a victory over the Turkish army in the Çeşme gulf in 1777. After severe damage in World War II the church was rebuilt in the 1970s, divine services were renewed in 1991. The church is located near Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation, I had to wait for a bus in front of it. The dramatic sky is due to a circular polarizer.

Inside of a huge WWII memorial in Saint Petersburg, Russia You can see the outside of this complex when you enter Saint Petersburg if you come from the airport. The surface was made to look like the broken walls of concrete shelters. Added to the group Makes me think of 'The Wall' by 'Pink Floyd'.

Kanonersky Ship Repairing Yard (KSRY) was founded in 1883. The shipyard has grown from a workshop for repair of dredging fleet into a large enterprise. The yard is located on Kanonersky Island along the St.Petersburg port sea channel.

St. Petersburg 2006, Varshavski station....thans spoorwegmuseum. Een bekend gezicht, de Fk 07..idd hij lijkt op 'onze' 1300 en is daar ook van afgeleid. Gebouwd door Alst(h)om (Frankrijk) in 1959 en er zijn 50 stuks van geleverd.
