Apologies to the Beatles. Here comes the sun. Na na na nan naaaa. I see the ice is slowly melting..... Notice the sun soakers sitting on the bench. Stockholm, Sweden, late March. This is Mosebacke Torg and Södra Teatern (thanks to *Kicki* for confirming that). The statue of two nude women has a story. They were lesbian women who (allegedly) committed suicide by jumping of a nearby bridge with eights tied to them. They were (allegedly) despondent over having been discovered in a day and age when homosexuality was unacceptable. Many people feel they were murdered.

There's a story behind this statue. They represent two women ho drowned by jumping off a nearby bridge with a stone tied around their feet. They were lesbian living in a time of intolerance of lesbianism. It could have been murder, though. The police probably didn't do to much to find out.

Some say they were murdered by drowning (I think they had weights tied to their legs) and some say it was suicide, since they might have been persecuted as lesbians in those days - Sweden is very tolerant at the moment but in the past there were prejudices, like anywhere.
