General Leandro Gomez (1811-1885) looks down one of the hallways around the main patio of Montevideo's Palacio Santos. Named after President Maximo Santos of Uruguay this national heritage home now houses the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. President Santos moved into this house in 1885. He died in 1889.
