Port Franc de Barcelona (Industrial Harbour)
Made by The Yellow Man (NL)..Catch up soon!
Surely not interesting for a visit but great to look at from above is the modern industrial harbour of the city that is located right at the bottom of the local mountain Montjuïc. And suddenly there is a whole in the road... Once, it was one of the most significant Mediterranean harbours; today, it is only one of the most significant harbours of Spain. From the peak of the Montjuïc, one has a fabulous view to each of the port basins. What is specially impressive is to see from above how a wide motorway opens in order to let the ferries and the cruisers enter into the port basin. Of course, it is also spectcular when a big container ship enters into the harbour and lands very slowly and carefully at its landing place.

Made by algarrobix
This picture is #2 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at www.100Strangers.com I met Arturo while I was taking pictures of helicopters at Barcelona's Heliport. He asked me about the lens I Had mounted on the camera and we started talking about photography, cameras, airplane spotting. At the end, I told the purpose of 100 stranger's group and he agreed to take him the photo. He asked to me to take the picture with W Barcelona Hotel on background (a.k.a. Sail Hotel) I didn't understand well and take a picture of him with a sail ship on background :)

A New Kind of Light
Made by KayhanT
This was the morning of the last day I'd spend in Barcelona after being on a Mediterranean cruise for two weeks. The cruise went around to different countries like France, Spain, Italy, Greece. I love cruises, I love the being surrounded by water, and I love Europe; so I think it's safe to say that this was an amazing experience for me. Of course going back to Toronto was a pain. The grey, cold, hazy weather wasn't really something to look forward to.

the ugliest ship-Olympian Highway
Made by Marlis1
this sinister looking ship was leaving Barcelona harbor on the 23rd of December 2007, in the afternoon. It seems to be the Olympian Highwaythanks to gravitywavefor the ID and Clearskies Images for the confirmation.. We were high above the harbor on Montjuic- too far for my G9's zoom to be useful- the Panasonic FZ18 would have been great.

the great thing about photographing them just about every day of their lives, they rarely have their guard up -- (translation: they ignore me) --- which allows me to get quick grab shots like this... we try our best to let them do their own thing -- almost always it results in a great photo opp :-)

Casino Royale on board Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas. The interesting thing is that our cruise's first stop was Villefranche-sur-Mer, France, where we were going to visit Monaco and see the Casino de Monte Carlo. That casino was the set for the 2006 James Bond movie Casino Royale.

On Board, by the pool, drink in hand!
Made by Daniel Greene
It was a long journey, but we finally made it on board. After this, we finally had a hot shower and a good nap. I splurged on 115 minutes of Internet access on board for $55. I can use it on my G1 with Wi-Fi, but I must be frugal. So, just a few updates this week!
