San Luis Obispo, California, 2008 The facade and mission bells of La Misión de San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. The mission church is currently undergoing renovation (and we couldn't get inside because of a wedding). While my main interest in visiting San Luis Obispo was to photograph the mission, I really enjoyed the rest of this smallish (43,000 pop.) college town (we only had time for about an hour or two to wander). I'd like to return for a weekend sometime and just hang out in the town's cafes and restaurants (and bring a macro lens to shoot all the pretty flowers in the mission's gardens).
