Office of the Comptroller [1953]
Made by black_celt
Designed by Aquiles Capablanca currently used as quarters of Cuban Ministry of Interior. Quite successful use of brise-soleil without obstructing the view from the inside. Concave block in front of the facade hides lifts and stairs giving more freedom in arranging office spaces. Che Guevara head outline mural added after the revolution. The building overlooks enormous Plaza de la Revolucion [formerly Plaza Civica] in Havana. The plaza has seen over 1 million people at times and was often used by Fidel Castro for his long speeches.

I know, everybody going to Havana is taking this photo...I couldn't escape it but I decided it was the right time to mess a little with Nik Silver Efex. I really like the final result with its film-like look enhancing the socialist era feeling.
