In the weekend of 28 May till 1 June 2008 the festival Hof Van Eeden was held on the courtyard of Moerkerken in Mijnsheerenland. The famous late 19th century Dutch writer Frederik van Eeden stayed here on holidays and wrote some books about this place, like Koele Meeren Des Doods. The film about the book was also shot here.
