The Sun Always Shines Somewhere

The Sun Always Shines Somewhere

Sunshine, you're my hero. Forever optimistic, you are always shining somewhere. - Lucas Hopper Foo Fighters- Big Me Ya gotta see this in the lightbox! Press L! It's awesome! Pardon my absence :p it was a weird week, and the details are iffy. . so yea. . . great week! Public transportation is a wonderful thing. I ride it all the time. I'm riding it now! But we sit shoulder to shoulder with a perfect stranger and sometimes never utter a word. It's amazing how comfortable we are on an air tight train through a city, but we'd freak the hell out if that same guy tried to sit next to us at a McDonald's. Strangers are strange. Try to sit next to me at a McDonald's and I'll ask how your days been. The world would be even more amazing if we treated every experience like public transportation: we're in this together, it'll be fast or we may be delayed together. But it's over in a bit. Now this stranger next to me now is probably reading what I'm writing so I'ma finish typing this and give her a oh yeah! I would like to go to lunch with you look. I'll let ya'll know if it works. She's like 50-ish hahaha Have a great weekend ya'll! L.A.S.E.R.S ya'll!! (Love Always Shines, and Everyday Remember 2 Smile)

Bienvenido a Miami

Bienvenido a Miami

In between my meetings and our scheduled dinner/boat cruise, the sun started setting and popped out from behind it's cover. I'm glad I happened to look out the window! My only regret (not that I could have changed anything....) is that there was no access to the balcony. So we all get to deal with the slight fuzz of the dirty window and the slightly constrained cropping. I could only take it out to 14mm without getting the sidewalls of the inaccessible balcony area. While I lamented that they were not looking after my photgraphy hobby, a friend of mine reminded me that they were looking after my safety. :) 21 stories would be a long ride down.... OK, my second regret is having left my ISO on 400. In trying to bring up the light a bit in the shadow areas (faux-HDR) the image started getting noisy. However, I'm not convinced that my lowest setting (200) would have made much of a difference. Despite the fuzz and noise, you've GOT to see it ! PS - The building boom in Miami was unexpected, at least to me. Driving into town from the airport, the sky was cluttered with cranes and building skeletons. If I didn't know better, I'd think that they had just decided within the last few years to put a city up here. PPS - Incidentally, seeing this scene out my window immediately reminded me of

Orange & Green

Orange & Green

This guy kept asking me for cigarettes despite the fact he never saw me smoking. In fact, I don't smoke. During my time in Downtown Miami, it almost seemed like he was following me around. I kept bumping into at every other corner and I caught him as his glance turned away from me. Very weird fellow. Your comments and faves are very appreciated. Reflected Sunrise

Reflected Sunrise

Look, Sherri! I saw a sunrise on another day. ;-) This is the view out our hotel room, which obviously was pointed in the wrong direction, but the Bank of America building was kind enough to reflect it for us. The pool to the right there was at the Marriott, and we had to use it when we wanted to swim because the Hyatt's was under construction. Fun. Now tell me, does this look like Florida??? Not to me! It could be a city just about anywhere?

Amazing at the number of compositions one can get from the same bridge under different light and focal lengths in one hour. I had timed this one to get the people mover train in the image. Applied a little Topaz to make it pop a little. 5d Mark II + 24-105L f/11 1/400 - 2/3 Ev ISO 200

It was dark when we arrived to Miami. But warm. Very warm, about 28 degrees C. And the hotel we were going to spend one night in was quite nice for the price. The room was really large and had and a window where I could snap a night shot as a bonus.

The mezzanine level of Mint Condo on the Miami River features 3 Macs for the use of residents. A friend and I joked about how long they would last before they're stolen. At least, I think he was joking.
