Mexico has a mixed economy. It contains a mixture of modern and outmoded industry and agriculture, increasingly dominated by the private sector. Recent administrations have expanded competition in seaports, railroads, natural gas distribution, airports and telecomunications. State oil extraction-company PEMEX, and electricity- generation CFE remain the only legal companies in those sectors, due to a constitutional ban to prevent national or international private funding.

View On Black From AllEars.Net, The three-tiered, circular Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest is a one-half scale reproduction of its counterpart inside the Temple of Heaven complex near Beijing. Many of its architectural details, both inside and out, have important significance to the Chinese people. Inside the hall, there are 12 outer columns supporting the roof. They represent the 12 months of the year and the 12-year cycle of the Chinese calendar. Closer to the center of the room are 4 columns representing the four seasons. These columns support a beam, representing Earth, which is topped by a round beam, signifying Heaven.

The Mexico pavilion resembles a Mesoamerican pyramid. The nightly fireworks show IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth is controlled from a small office atop the building. The office's window is barely visible from street level, but can be seen at an angle. Visitors enter through a display of Mexican artwork, the Animales Fantasticos art collection. The main room is the home to a twilight-lit Mexican marketplace, Plaza de los Amigos. At the edge of the plaza, a restaurant, San Angel Inn, overlooks an indoor lagoon. To the side of the plaza, a boarding area leads to a boat ride, Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros.

Viewed during the Mexico Pavilion slow boat ride Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. I made an effort during my last trip to take time to photograph some of the Disney Details located on the rides and throughout the parks. After viewing the very high quality shots posted in The Disney Photo Challenge Group during the past year, one of the things that I've come away with is to shoot the unusual items or at least to shoot the usual subjects in a unexpected way. I'm still working on that, and that's half of the fun!

EPCOT World Showcase Mexico El Rio del Tiempo I am being cheap. I have been on the fence about buying Photomatix. I think I will shell out the $$ later today. In the meantime, I have been messing around with other effects in Picnik. This has the HDR-ish and Vignette effects applied to it. I haven't posted a Disney picture in forever. Well that changes today. This is with the Olympus EP-1 Digital Pen largely straight out of the camera. This was shot while we were enjoying a margarita at the Mexico pavillion, shooting out to Morocco and France. BTW I rode the Gran Fiesta Tour this trip for the first time. I loved it, especially the first time when the video was a little off time so it was completely incoherent, but great fun.
