Bajo un arco La caminata por paseo Montejo Pues si llevaba nervios, no tanto por salir de Jessica con luz, sino por el hecho de que no llevaba la peluca y pues eso me dejaba mas al descubierto. En cierta forma como que mi mente me dice que con peluca es mas dificil que me reconozcan, y que aunque el pelo natural se ve mejor, pues como no tiene ni forma ni peinado y la peluca si, segun tambien mi mente es mas convincente la peluca que el pelo natural. Si ya se que es falso, pero bueno ya con el tiempo me ire acostumbrando a salir asi, con mi melena tal cual. La caminata, casi casi como cualquier caminata normal sobre una calle turistica. Y detenernos de vez en cuando para tomar una foto. La mayoria de los paseantes, ni a vernos volteban, y de los pocos que si, no note reaccion extraña alguna. Asi puntos que comentar del la caminata, pues si hay un par. Como estaban moviendo ya las esculturas, pues en una esquina tenian un camion y ya varias en jaulas de madera, entonces habia como 6 señores de los que cargan. Pues quien me acompaño como que si dudo un poco en si cruzabamos o no, pero yo le dije, si vamos, ya me tomo de la mano y pasamos como si nada. De haber ido solita si me habria regresado desde verles. La otra, es que si debo recordar poner mas atenciòn a como camino, como me dijo mi amistad, por que si de repente se me olvidaba y empezaba a caminar como niño otra vez. Hubo suerte, que el viento se porto bien, y no levanto la falda. La verdad me senti super agusto con la caminadita, poco a poco ganando mas confianza para salir como Jessica. Yes I was nervous, not so much for going out as Jessica on daylight, but mostly for the fact I was doing it without the wig and that felt like more in the open. In some way mi mind thinks that with a wig is more difficult to be recognized, an although yes, I agree my natural hair looks better, the fact it has no shape, or proper hairdoo,hile the wig does, in my mind makes the wig more convincing that my own hair. I know, I know, its only a false thought in my mind, but I guess with time, as I go out like that I'll get used. The walk, almost felt like a normal walking in any touristic avenue. A few stops to take photos. Most of the people also walking around didn't even bothered to look toward us, and from the few hat looked us, didn't catch any weird reaction. Points of notice in the walk, a couple of them. Since they were moving away some sculpture, in one corner there was an area with some scultures lready in wood cages, and 6 men working on putting them in a truck. My friend, kind of hesitated if to walk in front of them, but we did it. so she took my hand and we wlaked by. Nothing actually happened. If I went there on my own, I would have indeed turned around as soon as spottted. Other is that I need to focus more on remmember how to walk, as my friend said, sometimes I kind of started walking again as boy. Good luck, the air decided to behave, so no accidents with the skirt. Caminando por Merida De inicio la caminada por el centro la hice con una falda de mezclilla un poco mas larga y zapatos mas bajitos, pero esta foto me la tomo mi amiga antes y no tengo una de cuando andaba en el centro. Pues como les decia, me fui a dar mi paseo por el centro de Merida, estacione mi coche, ahi fue el primer momento chistoso, por que cuando llego a la caseta donde te dan el boletito del estacionamiento, el señor me pregunta placas de su vehiculo señorita, pues yo ahi medio intente hacer la voz, pero claro no salio, y el pobre señor si puso cara de y esa voz, como?? De ahi ya camine hacia la plaza principal, pues como cuatro cuadras de camino iba un señor enfrente de mi, que volteo a verme como 5 o 6 veces facil. Tambien cuando pase por un area donde un restaurante habia sacado mesas a la calle, y con unos musicos arreglando sus instrumentos para tocar, uno de ellos me ve directamente, y ya que iba o pasando al lado, que dice al microfono Me acao de enamorar, mientras me veia. --inserte cara toda roja de la pena--- Pues camine ahi algun ratito, claro que no iba a pasarmela caminando, y vi que habia una libreria ahi, asi que decidi entrar y compre un libro, la compra todo normal, yo una cliente mas. De ahi me fui a sentar un ratito a donde venden unos helados, y para poder estar un ratito mas, me lo tome despacito mientras leia un poco. Ya mas tardecito di otra vuelta, y ya luego me regrese. A prepararme para ir a la disco un ratillo mas de noche, A bailar. Kisses Jessica Walking around Merida Just a note, my walking around downtown was made with a denim skirt a bit longer than this one, and shorter shoes, its just my friend took me this photo, and I have none from downtown. Well, I went to do some walking in downtown Merida, so parked my car, there first funny thing,when I get to the box at the parking place where one get the parking ticket, the man there asked Miss, your vehicle plate number, I tried my best to soften my voice but didn't work, so when he heard it, his face change, as if saying What with the voice?? From there walk toward the main square, well in 4 of the block to walk to there, there was a man walking a few steps in front of me, who kept tuning his head to look at me, easily like 5 o 6 times. Also I passed in an area where this restaurant has set their tables out on the street, with a group of musicians, setting their instruments and stuff, well one of them looks directly at me, and as I walk next to them, he say on the microphone while looking directly at me I have fall in love, -- insert red shy face--- I walked around a bit, of course I was not to be walking and walking for hours, so I saw a bookstore there, and decided to go in and buy a book, everything went ok, I was just one more costumer to them. With a book in hand went to this place that sales ice-cream and sit down a little while slowly eating one and doing little reading. Sentada os cuento Sentada en una sillita os cuento la corta aventura de Jessica de este sabado. Pues me fui a Merida nuevamente, ya llegue y me hospede, sali a comer, aun de niño, y estaba haciendo un calor de los mil infiernos. Asi que ni como salir toda arreglada, ni 5 minutos iba a durarme el maquillaje. A pasear se puso aquel. Ya mas tardecito cuando estaba por quitarse el sol ya me arregle, asi como estoy en la foto y me sali a pasear, fui a un parque que quedaba cerca y anduve caminado poquito. Pero ocurre que me lleve la camara sin tarjeta de memoria dentro, Asi que ni como tomar fotos. Si podria haber regresado al hotel por la memoria, pero entonces seria como si hubiera salido solo pr la foto y no, asi que decidi disfrutar mi caminata entre los poquititos humanos que habia por ahi. Ya luego era hora de ir regresando, pues pronto llegaria mi amiga Mercy con quien iba a ir a la disco. Ya le mande mensajito, me contesto, llego, se cambio, se maquillo y ahi estabamos listas, dos niñas lindas para ir a la disco. Noche de platica y baile. Espero que mi amiga difrutara la salida. Y asi terminaba un ratito mas de este sueño de ser Jessica Kisses Jessica en azul Sitting down I tell Sitting down in that chair I tell you about the short adventure of Jessica this saturday. I went to merida again, arrived, got a room, went out eating, still in the boy mode, and realised it was extremelly hot, like a thousand hells. No option of going out girl, with that temperature, makeup wouldn't last longer than 5 minutes. So he kept fooling around a bit. a bit later, when sun gas about to go down I went to get all pretty, looking as in the photo I went outside, to a park nearby and t walk a bit around. But turns out that Itook the camera without memory card, so no pictures. I could have returned to the hotel for the memory card, but that would make it as if the only reason to go out was a picture, and it was more to enjoy being outside, walking around the few humans there. Later it was time to go back, for soon my friend Mercy was to arrive. A message sent, she arrived, changed, mak-up, and ready we were, Two pretty girls to go dancing. A night of talk and dance. Bajando del Coche, pues este fin de semana de nuevo fui a visitar Merida. Pues de antes mi amistad me habia dicho que hacia mucho calor, si siendo ya la antesala del verano, pero como hubo lo de la tormenta tropical-huracan, pues el fin de semana toda la region estuvo nublada o lluviosa. Con suerte para mi no llovio en los momentos que anduve fuera. Pero bueno la cosa es que pensando en el posible calor, ahora me anime a salir con una falda aún más corta para lo usual de la tarde. Ahi andaba la loca de la Jessica enseñando sus piernas chuecas. Nuevamente fui con mi amistad al Vips a tomar cafe y platicar. Muy agusto una platicada vespertina, Mi amistad me regalo un calendario que hizo con fotos que he puesto, ahi luego lo presumire, esta bonito. Ya despues como mi amistad tenia cosas que hacer, fue a dejarme a mi hotel, donde ya me cambie la falda por una de mezclilla mas larguita, y los zapatos por otros mas bajitos. Ya mañana contare que tal me fue. Kisses Jessica Nota curiosa, al entrar al Vips pasamos por una mesa donde habia 4 señores, que se me quedaron viendo pero asi mucho, spooky. Going out of the car, well this weekend I went to Merida again. From a few days before my friend there told me weather had been too hot, normal being almost summer, but since just on friday a tropical-storm-hurricane showed on the area it was cloudy and rainy. Luckily for me it didn't rained while I was out. Well thing is, thinking on the possibility of hot weather I decided to use a skirt a little shorter than the usual ones I use on afternoon exits. So there was crazy Jessica showing her silly legs. Again went to Vips to have a nice chat with some coffee. very nice to talk on the afternoon. My friend also gave me a gift, a calendar she made with some photos I have posted before. Later I'll take photo of it and show off. Since my friend have some stuff to do later, she drive me back to my hotel, where I changed the skirt, for a denim one, a bit longer, and lower shoes. Tomorrow I will tell about the second part of the adventure. Afuera en Merida Pues ya casi por terminar el Año me fui el fin de Semana a Merida. Pues tras llegar y recorrer un poco para conseguir hospedaje (se me olvido que igual me paso el año pasado que pues por estas fechas luego se llena la ciudad y debia de haber hecho reservacion previa) le hable a mi amiga Fer, y ya nos pusimos de acuerdo para ir a tomarnos un cafe y platicar, me acompaño al centro donde luego de una caminata cortisima, ya que por no se que razon extraña no podia caminar bien, se me iba uno de los pies de lado, como si el tacon del zapato se hubiera roto, pero no, y lo mas raro es que con esos zapatos ya habia caminado y bailado antes. Pero en fin, tras ver que de plano caminar ya no era opcion nos sentamos a tomar un cafecito con pastel y platicar. Tras un buen rato platicando ya iba siendo hora de retirarnos, de inicio iba a esperar cerca del cafe donde nos sentamos pero resulto que ya podia caminar como si nada nuevamente, raro. De ahi me llevo mi amiga a un parquecito por ahi para que igual me tomara fotos con las lucecitas, que ya les presumire despues. After arrival, and going around a bit to get a place to sleep (I forgot like last year, that around this time of the year Merida is crowded and one must reserve a place), I called my friend Fer, and agreed on a time to go have a coffee and talk, this time we went downtown where after a very short walk around, short since for reasons I cant understand I was unable to walk with those heels, yes they were tall, but strangely I have previously used them, walked, and danced with them for long without trouble. It was like if the heel got broken . Anyways, after seeing I was not able to walk we sat down to have some coffee and cake and have a nice chat. After a while talking it was time to go, my friend suggested I waited there while she went for her car, but turned out I was able to walk normally again. As I said, strange. Despues del paseo Bueno, ya que terminamos de charlar y el cafecito, mi amistad ya me llevo de regreso a mi hotel, y nos despedimos. De ahi, pues solo quedaba esperar a que fuera mas nochecita y ver si mi otra amiga me hablaba para irme a la disco. Pero era como que muy temprano para como quedarme encerrada en la habitacion, y como que muy poco tiempo para cambiarme de regreso a la otra personalidad y despues volver a arreglarme. ASi que que hize??? Pues despues de pasear acompañada, me sali a pasear solita. Sipi me fui al centro de Merida a caminar un ratito mas. Asi solita. Y todo paso sin contratiempos, incluso de un restauante, uno de los meseros de afuera me dijo pasale aqui con nosotros amiga, aqui si cenas rico. Ya que se volvia mas noche entonces si me regrese para cambiarme, a como les mostre en la foto con botas, y luego a bailar por un ratito. Un gran fin de semana, a ver que ocurre en los siguientes. From there, I only had to wait for it to be more late at night, to see if my other friend called to go dancing. But it was like way too early, to just stay there inside the hotel room just waiting. and it was too little time to change back to the alternative look, and then back to Jessica. So what to do??? After going out to walk with someone, well why not try go out to walk alone. Yes, I decided to go downtown Merida, to walk around a bit more, as I was dressed, and yes alone. All went ok, even on one foodplace, une of the waiters that invites people to go eat inside, called me Hey, girlfriend, come and eat with us here Once it was becoming more night, it was time to change outfit, the ones with the boots and red skirt I showed you, and to go dancing a little bit. Tras el paseo un cafecito Tras terminar el paseo caminando por paseo Montejo, nos fuimos a tomar un cafecito en el Vips de dicha avenida. El mismo de las dos ocasiones anteriores. Para platicar mas agusto. En esta ocasion la cosa era que iba con mi pelo mas normalito, y si ya de por si mi no sabe peinarlo, tras la caminadita y el poco viento, si ya no traia forma. Pero paso algo que me levanto mucho la confianza, y es que la mesera se refirio a mi en varias ocasiones como Señorita, Y claro yo super feliz. Mi amistad me dijo que fuera yo quien hiciera el tramite de pagar en caja, como experiencia nueva. Y pues todo normal, pague, me dieron mi cambio, y ya normal. Es agradable poder pasar un rato asi de charla tranquila acompañada con cafecito, sin preocuparse de si se daran cuenta, me diran algo Kisses Jessica After the walk a bit of coffee After finishing walking around paseo Montejo, we went for a little rest and coffee at the Vips there. Falda a Cuadros El sabado pues estuve en Merida, y tambien fue dia de Jessica. Por la tarde, como a las 6 ya que habia bajado el sol, sali de mi hotel ya de Jessica para ver el carnaval como chica, claro no iba con el atuendo de la foto, sino con otro un poco mas recatado. Cuando llegue a Paseo Montejo ya estaba llenisimo de gente, pero ya estaba ahi asi que a buscar algun lado desde donde poder medio ver el desfile del carnaval. Camine hasta el final del paseo montejo donde llega al centro para encontrar un sitio desde donde mas o menos ver bien. Terminando de ver el carnaval estuve un rato escuchando musica y luego me compre una paleta, y camine de regreso a mi hotel, ya ahi me cambie por el atuendo de la foto que fue el que use para ir a bailar a la disco. By the afternoon, around 6 when sun was going down, left my hotel dressed as Jessica to watch the carnaval in girl mode, of course I was not dressed like in the photo, I decided to go with a more covering outfit. When arriving to Paseo Montejo it was already crowded, lots of people, but since I was already there it was time to go and look for a place to see the Carnaval parade. Walk almost to the end of Paseo Montejo where it meets the downtown area. After the parade was over, I stayed there a bit listening the musicians there, bought myself an ice lollipop and walked back to my hotel, there I changed to the outfit on the photo to go dancing. Lime Soup One of the culinarie wonders of Yucatecan Food, is the lime soup. It might look like a simple chicken soup with a few tortillas, but don't let the appereance fool you, it tastes absolutely nothing like it. I do not know the secret recipe for the lime soup, but it kind of goes like this. In abowl of water, the pieces of chicken flesh, onion, garlic, herbs, and very importan the lime pulp, is put to boil Then you add the fried tortilla bits, and bits of avocado before serving along with the lime skin And when to serve, you add and extra bit of lime juice. Absolutely forbidden to put lemon on it. It taste yummi, delicious. Kisses Jessica, who eats a lot. Sopa de Lima Una de las maravillas culinarias de la comida yucateca es la Sopa de Lima Pareceria una simple sopa de pollo con algo de tortillas, pero no dejes que su apariencia te engañe, para nada sabe parecido. Yo no se los secretos de la receta para la sopa de lima, pero va algo como asi. En una cacerola con agua se pone a cocer la carne de pollo, cebolla, ajo, epazote, especias, y lo mas importante la pulpa de la lima. Ya que se cocio, se deja enfriar, se le agregan las tiritas de tortilla fita, algo de aguacate y las rodajas de cascara de lima. Y a la hora de servir se le pone un poquito de jugo de lima. Una Tarde en Merida Este fin de semana si me toco salir de la isla para pasear. Y de hecho gran parte del paseo fue por Jessica. A donde, pues ahora le toco el turno a Merida, ahi se anduvo paseando Jessica. Y para aumentar la locura, se animo a pasear con su cabellera recien lavada al descubierto. Claro esta que si ya iba a andar asi, habia que hacerlo en algun lugar bonito, asi que se puso a dar su caminadita por Paseo Montejo, que es donde fue tomada esta foto. Si traia algo de nervios, pero aun asi fue una caminata que disfrute mucho.
