I have seen countless pictures and videos, and heard countless stories of how amazing the Grand Canyon. None of it prepared me for my first trip to the Grand Canyon. The name Grand is a fitting name, yet at the same time it does not do it justice. On this trip, we were visiting Las Vegas. We decided to head out to the Grand Canyon. It took a 5 hour bus ride to get out to the rim. A couple of hours taking pictures and being in total awe. Then another 5 hour bus ride back to Vegas. When I think of 10 hours on a bus, it normally isn't a situation that I would choose, but this time it was worth every minute. Highly recommended.

The Gran Canyon is not just just a landscape, it is a timescape too: the different colored rock layers range from recent times on the upper part to 2 billion years old strata in the inner canyon.
