Taken at Marymoor Park in Redmond, WA. I have wanted to photograph a Green Heron for sometime now, but have not been lucky enough to see one. Today I ventured out in my kayak in search of them, although rain was threatening overhead. I paddled around for almost an hour before I was ready to call it quits. As I approached the dock to exit my kayak, I caught a glimpse of this small figure perched on a snag, and quickly snapped a bunch of shots as my kayak coasted toward it. I couldn't have been luckier as the sun was shining at that exact moment and I was just about ready to leave. Only downside is that I was using the 300mm, so I had to crop this quite a bit, although the quality stayed true. I'm going to go back in the near future and try for some more.
