Fue inaugurada el 30 de enero de 1943. Se encuentra en calles Falucho y Mendoza, a dos cuadras del mar y a dos de Av. Colón. La torre se destaca porque posee una magnífica vista desde el Mirador hacia los cuatro puntos cardinales. El arquitecto Cornelio Lange fue quien la diseñó. De estilo Tudor, pintoresquista de inspiración nórdica, fue ejecutado con piedra concertada en el subsuelo y planta baja, y el resto en piedra trabajada a punta gruesa y punta fina, la cubierta de la torre, materializada en pizarras, se resuelve a cuatro aguas, con los pares de faldones opuestos de dimensiones iguales. En las esquinas de remate curvo, la cubierta se articula mediante 10 pendientes de las cuales 8 son iguales. Se permite subir por el ascensor, original desde su construcción, para ver desde arriba la cisterna que contiene 13 millones de litros de agua que abastecen a un tercio de MDP o disfrutar de una vista panorámica privilegiada. Antes de llegar al Mirador, el ascensor atraviesa el tanque de agua de 500 mil litros. El edificio pertenece a Obras Sanitarias Municipalidad General Pueyrredón. (Texto extractado de www.sueloabsoluto.com.ar/salidas/sal/torremdp.html ) Llama la atención la forma en que está iluminada, la textura de la piedra y el contraste con el color del techo, lo que me llevó a tomar esta foto, que tiene una corrección para compensar la deformación que produce el fotografiar estructuras altas desde corta distancia.

Mar del Plata is the most popular seaside beach resort in Argentina, and within a period going roughly from 1880 to 1945 it was the place where the wealthiest Argentinian families spent the summer season. Some of the residences they built have been demolished since, but some still remain. A wide variety of architectural styles was used, but most buildings are picturesque, sometimes with very fanciful details that are fun to find and photograph. Best viewed large, of course.) · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · Mar del Plata es la ciudad balnearia más famosa de Argentina, y durante un período que va más o menos entre 1880 y 1945 fue el lugar donde las familias argentinas acaudaladas pasaban el verano. Algunas de las residencias que construyeron fueron demolidas, pero otras todavía están ahí. Estos edificios se hicieron en una variedad de estilos arquitectónicos, pero la mayoría son pintoresquistas, a veces con detalles muy fantasiosos que es divertido encontrar y fotografiar. A dozen of street dogs flashed before my eyes and lens just once early in the morning. Following the alpha dog barking and running free just like kids playing... Burst Firing, got about 8 pictures from the gang, 3 backlight frames like this one. Mar Del Plata, Punta Mogotes. This is just one more picture from the same burst. I like them all because all are similar but different. Los perros iban hacia el sur por la arena y comence a tratar de seguirlos ya que corrian y se alejaban ladrando. Puse el modo rafaga en la camara y trabe el foco cuando vi que pegaron la vuelta hacia el norte y pasarian frente a mi, esta vez lo hicieron sobre el agua mucho mas espectacular, asi que tengo unas 8 fotos de rafaga muy dinamicas. Luego desaparecieron al norte no pude volver a alcanzarlos

Lobo marino del puerto de Mar del Plata Los lobos marinos son el símbolo de este puerto, nadan libremente entre los barcos, se suben a ellos y disfrutan del pescado que les dan los pescadores. Este se está durmiendo una buena siesta en esta tarde de invierno del atlántico sur.
