Customer Redemption

Customer Redemption
Made by Neil T
The McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in York had a 'Customer Redemption Desk', which sounded like a place where customers could go and redeem themselves. It was actually part of a promotion where if you spent £100 before the 3rd April in any of the shops you could get 3 nights free accommodation in one of 180-or-so hotels in the UK. We ended up spending £144 today so my parents are planning a short break somewhere, even though the bulk of the money spent was on stuff for me (new pair of shoes and a new suit).

Me. Second picture from the Rolleicord. Taken with my newest camera, a Rolleicord 1 model 2 dating from 1934-36. Hoping that it's going to prove more consistent as a medium-format camera than my Lubitel (which leaks light like a b*st**d). Anyway, this is a scan of a contact sheet of my first roll through the camera. Rolleicord 1 model 2, Kodak Tri-X 400 (120), Film developed in LC29 (6'30) Contact printed onto Jessops MG RC paper (3 second exposure) developed in Ilford Multigrade

Snowmen Bath Bombs

Snowmen Bath Bombs

Debbie and I went out for a few last-minute items this morning (Christmas Eve). But because of the snow falls overnight, most people had either gone to work or stayed at home. It was a joy to shop in virtually deserted stores. Then, we went for a Coffee at Caffè Nero. I saw these in a store called 'Bubbles' at the York Designer Outlet, McArthur Glen.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day
Made by David Hulme
Remembrance Day is observed on 11th November to recall the official end of World War I on that date in 1918, as the major hostilities of World War I were formally ended at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 with the signing of the Armistice. But I try to remember all of the poor fellows that fell on all sides of the fighting for what they believed was right or for those who were drafted for their country.

This is Brenda and Randy Mayhood from Texas on a biking tour of the UK . What wonderfully wet weather they're enjoying! Brenda is a work colleague. We worked together at Franklin Park and Zephyrhills factories in 2008. I took this with my Palm Treo Pro (hence the very poor quality) at the York Designer Outlet car park, just after having lunch together and before the intrepid duo headed North to Edinburgh.

Lindt Outlet Store: York

Lindt Outlet Store: York

This Lindt Store is within the York Designer Outlet. Although no cheaper than the supermarkets, there are much, much more Lindt products for sale here that you cannot find elsewhere. Their range of Easter Bunnies is a treat to see, especially for the children (of all ages).

Christmas Shopping

Christmas Shopping

There were so few shoppers at York Designer Outlet, and so few shops that could open because staff never made it into work, that the management annouced that it would close at 14:00. Tom and I had lunch and a coffee there though.

About 10 3 minute exposures at ISO 1600, Pentax 75 SDHF, Canon 20D, Astronomik CLS Clip, unguided. Stacked in DSS with darks and flats and processed in PS3 with Noel's tools. Happy with this even though tracking was out a bit.

Taking it Easy

This Guide Dog (Seeing-Eye Dog) knew that his master would be waiting a long time for his wife (who'd just gone into this clothing store to check-out the sale items), so he made himself very comfortable.

Selling Fantasies

Selling Fantasies

In the York Designer Outlet, the lady in the yellow jacket is selling fantasies to (largely) men. For a sum of money, you get to take the Spyder out on the track somewhere. Ho and indeed, hum.

Bose Bug

In the York Designer Outlet, parked in a main walk-way, was this funny looking three-wheeled delivery truck. It was used to display small Bose items such as headphones.

The nicest thing to enjoy with an Americano coffee, if you have a low blood sugar. This one was enjoyed at Caffè Nero.

I tried out an old favourite but used the 'Pro HDR' App that I bought for my iPhone; it turned out quite good for a Cell Phone image.

It looks almost snowy against the black of the night sky. This is the Christmas Tree at the McArthur Glen, Designer Outlet in York.
