This courthouse was built in 1950 in Modern style. The designer was the architectural firm of Haynes & Kirby. Lubbock is the largest city in northwest Texas. It is bigger than many state capitals and bigger than many of the largest cities in other states, yet it is tenth largest city in Texas. That fact alone, I find to be an interesting example of Texas' large population.
