So I'm going to try out this 365 days thing...maybe it'll be the impetus I need to do more self-portraits and experiment with different things. Much like I used to do in elementary school gym class, I'm going to start out with something weak so it looks like I'm improving with my shots. This is me getting ready for my first day of work this week. On Sunday nights I fly down to North Carolina (Monday night this week because of Columbus Day) and don't arrive until 1:30AM at the earliest. The following morning I always look like hell, so this is me looking like hell and getting ready for work.

Today I found out that (barring any unforeseen events) I'll be working in the Chicago area for the next year or so! Even though I'll miss my co-workers and friends down here in NC it'll be so nice to sleep in my own bed every night and to have a bit of a normal routine. I think my last trip down here will be in early-mid November so I'll be posting fewer travel shots. Tonight is a happy night.

Last night Patrick and I drove up to Blowing Rock (up in the Blue Ridge Mountains) to hit the outlet stores one last time. While we were there a huge storm came through and I was actually a bit scared with all the rain, wind and fog buffeting the car as we descended through Deep Gap on the way back to Wilkes. Made it in one piece, and the leaf litter tells quite a story this morning
