365:2011 - Number 157 of 365 Please press the L key and view in light-box I've been away for a while. I've been crazy busy. Since I was last here, I have: - Been to Glastonbury Festival - muddy, sunny, drunken, music, friends, awesomeness... - Framed 40 12x18 prints - horrifically time consuming and boring... - Spent a long weekend in London where we stayed at the Waldorf for free (points generated from work travel), went to the Royal Academy to the Summer Exhibition, ate and drank lots, celebrated Canada day in a strange and expensive way, went to Gay Pride (loads of photos), saw Pulp play in Hyde Park. - Hung 40 of my photos in the local arts centre where I am exhibiting for a month! (w00t!). - Went back to work (boo!)... I'm going to try and continue with my not-really-365 from where I left off... but with the amount of photos I have I think I may overtake myself by posting more than I need, but we shall see... Anyhoo, nice to be back, will catch up with streams soon... Here is a picture of building in London I liked the look of... The lens distortion bothers me a bit, but not as much as when I tried to fix the distortion... It was surprising how much I forgot about photo editing in such a short time... Accompanied by (because it is as song about a tower block in London, just not this one and Pulp played it live): ♫ Mile End by Pulp ♫ chernobylbob.com

We start to think when we bump into things. And we construct pictures of the world around those patterns of bumping. Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, discussing narrative at the London School of Economics. Shown in conversation with Professor Richard Sennett and Sir Howard Davies (obviously). Detail of the mosaic over the entrance to the LSE's St. Clement's Building. I failed to take a good image of the mosaic in context, so here is someone elses:- I was here for an Open University/LRAC day school for A330. Originally posted in Guess Where UK (2011 #6).

As I was leaving the library late one night this week, I turned around and noticed that everything seemed just a little bit brighter and a little bit more colorful than usual.

Bang on cue, music and cheering. Mexican waves going up through the building. More cheering. Happy students. No doubt some pissed-off studious ones somewhere too.

I tried to get some interesting pictures of my old university campus, but this is the only one that really came out. I'll save it as a project for another time.
