The famous White Lion, first sighted in 1975, in Timbavati, by a game ranger, Chris McBride. The pale pelt and eyes (very pale yellow, sometimes even blue!) are the result of a reccessive gene.This is not an albino lion, as some would suggest. White lions are not weakened in any way by the gene,but are at a serious disadvantage in the wild, their lack of camouflage making hunting very difficult.
