Les Invalides
Les Invalides in Paris, France consists of a complex of buildings in the 7th arrondissement containing museums and monuments, all relating to France's military history, as well as a hospital and a retirement home for war veterans, the building's original purpose. Planned in 1676, was inaugurated by the King Louis XIV in august 1706. In 1989, at the occasion of the bicentenary of the French Revolution, more than 10 kilos of gold were necessary for the restauration of the dome. Nowadays, below this dome, there is the grave of Napoleon I. Projetada em 1676, foi inaugurada pelo rei Luis XIV em agosto 1706. Em 1989, a ocasião do bicentenario da revolução francesa, mais que 10 kilos de ouro foram necessarios para restaurar a cúpula. Hoje em dia, embaixo desta cúpula se encontra a sepultura do Napoleão I.

This is the entrance of Les Invalides of Paris seen from the inside of the Cour d'Honneur. I took pictures of the entire building and its very large facade from the border of the Seine, but I wasn't happy with them. I like how it's possible to see through the building, and the silhouettes of candelabras can be seen. Picture slightly cropped.
