There is a long story behind this set of slides. Went in the forest /just/ after it got re-opened, after the foot-and-mouth epidemic zone was lifted. I had been autumn-colors-deprived becaude all the cool places were closed during the best of the season so I pulled all the stops and went in with the Crown Graphic, Metal Tripod, bag with 12 film holder with Velvia, dark cloth, reflector, oh, and a camera bag for the digital SLR of course. Light Kit.... ahum. And well, I sorta got lost; following a path that I assumed would gently curve back to where I wanted to go, it turns out it was curving /very/ gently back and took me miles over where my car was. So overall, I got into the forest at 9am, and got back into my car at 3pm, totally exhausted, dehydrated etc. But, the slides are gorgeous, so it was well worth it ! On this path was a beech and an oak battling it out to out-color the others.
