This is a flax mill, only ten minutes from Leeds station, built like an Egyptian temple. The building pictured is an extension from the one to the left, and both are mid-nineteenth century; the original building had a grass roof, where sheep used to graze. Would have taken more of this wonderful building, but my batteries ran out :-(

view from the 1st floor down to Ground and Lower Ground floors - as far as I could get. I was in the basement years ago and it was like going down a mine - boiler rooms, low ceilings, Thirties handpainted safety signs... (well as I remember it)
