Pari Bibi's Tomb

Pari Bibi's Tomb, Lalbagh Fort, Old Dhaka. Pari Bibi was Subehdar Shaista Khan's eldest daughter. While Shaista Khan was ruling Bengal, with his capital in Dhaka, he started construction of the Lalbagh Fort. But during this time, in the 1680s, his daughter Pari Bibi died. Heartbroken, Shaista Khan stopped construction of the fort, and instead built a tomb for his daughter. The Tomb has Pari Bibi's grave in the middle, and the grave of Shamsad Bibi, the supposed younger daughter of Shaista Khan. There is another grave, supposedly of Mirza Bangali or someone else, on the other side of the Tomb. The Tomb, along with the Lalbagh fort complex, is maintained by the Archaeological Department of Bangladesh Govt.
