Lake Sam Rayburn Texas, Cloudy with a chance of Rain. 16:9 Aspect Ratio taken with the Sony 18-70mm Lens. The desolation of the coming Winter Months is my focus in this series of Lake Sam Rayburn photos. Doesn't the Lake & and Weather look cold and gloomy? Driving home after class tonight i saw the lake look strange. This is a color photo but it looks Monochromatic, like a Black and White photo. The way i am looking is to the North West towards Lufkin Texas and the HWY 143 Bridge. I just thought that it was a neat look to be shot in 16:9 as well. Exposure: 0.008 sec (1/125) Aperture: f/4.0 Focal Length: 20 mm ISO Speed: 200

The desolation of the coming Winter Months is my focus in this series of Lake Sam Rayburn photos. Doesn't the Lake & and Weather look cold and gloomy? Next in The lake series from today. This photo was taken shooting almost due North. Over on the right side of the photo, you can almost make out Rattlesnake Island and the Little Island as well. Again, this is a Full Color photo, not Monochromatic as it looks. It was also taken in 16:9 format. Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160) Aperture: f/3.5 Focal Length: 18 mm ISO Speed: 200

Dusk After Storm 1.0

Taken using a Sony 18-70mm Lens in 16:9 Aspect Ratio. I was driving home from school on FMR 255 East and saw a nice evening sky. I stopped my Tacoma on the side of the road on the South end or Lake Rayburn and walked over to the lake side and got on the wall to shoot this photo. A storm had come through the area and this is what remained of it. I love the deep earthy tones in the sky and the clouds to the right in the sky. Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 40 mm ISO Speed: 400

Lightening Storm south of Lake Sam Rayburn. Taken from FMR 255. We had a very big weather system just miss the lakes area last night. I was able to point my camera South West and get some AMAZING lightening shots like this. No cloud to ground stuff, just mainly in the clouds. It was a great show that i got to witness. Watching a vulgar display of power like this makes me feel very small... Exposure: 19 Aperture: f/3.5 Focal Length: 18 mm ISO Speed: 200

Lake Sam Rayburn after a Cold Front came through the area. It looks to be about 3-4 feet swells coming out of the Northwest. Photo was taken off of FMR 255 West using the Sony 18-70mm Lens in 16:9 Aspect Ratio. Another installment in the cold dismal weather that can happen on Lake Sam Rayburn during the Fall and Winter months. The lake can get very rough and violent in a matter of a few minutes when the wind and weather changes.

Taken using a Sony 18-70mm Lens in 16:9 Aspect Ratio: Facing Southwest, this photo was taken during the same shoot as on FMR 255 East. The deep tones in the sky and wisps of clouds over the tree line kind of bring into perspective the vastness of the sky. The sliver of Moon high in the sky is just a taste of it and what is to come... Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 40 mm ISO Speed: 400

This sunset was taken standing on the side North side of HYW 255 West using my 18-70mm lens. There were lots of clouds around but we missed all the rain. That is why the sky looks like it does. Looking in this direction, I am looking toward Lufkin Texas that is about 40 miles from the lake. Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/160) Aperture: f/9.0 Focal Length: 45 mm ISO Speed: 200

Sunset At Lake Sam Rayburn... The Sun is almost down and the lake will be dark and quiet. Time to get to the camp and eat and sleep when the time is right for it. I wonder if they had fun on this day and what will they do tomorrow? Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60) Aperture: f/10.0 Focal Length: 70 mm ISO Speed: 200
