My friend Kale during the luminaria ceremony at this year's American Cancer Society Relay for Life. I feel that these are some of the most moving photos I've ever taken. ISO 3200 in this kind of light? I'd say the 40D performs OK. And don't let the EXIF fool you; this was taken handheld at 200mm and 1/40sec with NO IS. ;-)

Sometimes you don't totally connect with the personal level of grief involved with cancer until you see something like Mom, Dad, or Grandpa written on the luminaria. I felt a lump in my throat while setting up this shot; the whole process was pretty emotional.
