La Ronde amusement park, Montreal You won`t ever get me on a ride like this. I like my stomach contents to be where they should be, thank you very much. However, for my daughter`s birthday, I took her and her adventurous girlfriend to the La Ronde amusement park for the whole day, and just let them loose! They went on every ride - including the one you see here, while I stood back in the shade of an obliging poplar tree, and snapped this pic. As I looked on in bemusement and reflection, I couldn`t help but think there was a time when I was just as fearless (and had a much stronger stomach), but now I`m just as happy to watch kids scream with fright and joy while having the living daylights scared out of them on rides such as this - and to capture it on film ;-) Built during expo67, La Ronde is the only remaining remnant from that area. Recently it was sold by the local government to the six-flags consortium. Web site: www.laronde.com/en/
