Disco Lies - Moby // Korean Fried Chicken, that is. This is from that fried chicken joint in Koreatown on Bloor. I can't remember the name of it, but you can't miss it -- it's covered with finger-lickin' photos of chicken wings all over its front window. I'm all for fried food, but I'm not sure I was a huge fan of these babies. The plain ones didn't really have much flavour, and the spicy-saucy ones were nice at first bite but left a moderate aftertaste. Though my friend had a thing for the french fries, my highlight was the side dish of pickled radishes. I could go there for those alone.

The crowd blocked off a chunk of Bloor Street, just east of Christie. The police blocked off the roads and patrolled the area in case any hoodlums decided to be smart and do something stupid. As far as I know, there was no violence and it was just a good old time for everyone. The store owners were even out of their shops soaking in the celebration. There was even an old drummer person beating the drums to the song of the Korean chants. He was actually pretty good. All in all, it was indeed a fun game to watch, and a nice way to spend a hot and hazy Sunday afternoon!

You know, I didn't feel like the soft tofu stew, and strangely for someone who generally dislikes sweet food, I actually like ddukbaegi bulgogi 뚝배기 불고기 -- sweet brothy beef cooked in a cold stone pot with glass noodles and some vegetables. It's not a stew, and and it's not quite a soup -- maybe that's why I like it. Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu 691 Bloor St. W, Toronto, Canada 416-537-0972

Went to dinner at Minerva's on Bloor and Clinton for dinner with the Udon crew after Fan Expo. Had these excellent spicy fried wings. Would have eaten more, but I had a sore throat and I wasn't doing myself any favours... So tasty, spicy, sweet, and YUMMY. Must go back for more!!! When I'm better. T_T
