Kleifarvatn
Kleifarvatn is the largest lake on the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland, situated in the southern part of the peninsula on the fissure zone of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The lake can be reached via a track, and there are two areas with high temperature can be found not far from it: Seltn/Krsuvk and another to the east. The lake's greatest depth is 97 m. After the big earthquake in 2000, the lake began to diminish, and 20% of its surface has since disappeared.Top photos chosen by u all:

Shot during the same evening as the other pictures from Kleifarvatn. (2.jan 2007) I really love the colors in this one as the red color is coming from the citylights in Reykjavik the green from the slightly faded Northern lights and the clear blue sky in contrast with the gray clouds. The snow in the mountains also makes a nice contrast to the foreground :)

The family went for a drive yesterday. On the way back we stopped by Kleifarvatn and I took this picture. This is actually a combination of five exposures, but I must say that I'm not sure I understand the hdr merge tool in photoshop cs2 .

I wanted to include as much of the Lights as possible and that was only possible by doing a portrait version, shame though since the mountains were pretty amazing that night.

The timing was a bit off for me when I shot this one, I think it adds a dramatic side to this image though.
