my heart is broken, my heart is whole
Made by sopranosflight
I am back from London as of half an hour ago. I am full and broken and changed. I am in love, a story too full for this page, in love with two specific things that are already changing my life, shown to me by a man with the reflection of Jesus and a passion for street theatre. He is sharing his love with me and trying to make a way for me to join him directly following my university graduation. I was thrown to the cement again and again one night as we performed the story of the adulterous woman from the Bible. I was bruised. I was picked up by strangers and carried off. I was held and had things thrown at me and was touched so gently, but also so cruelly. And I've never done theatre like that. I've never done theatre that touches people's lives like that, that opens their hearts to the love of God in a different way than I could ever share with my lips. I've never done theatre in such a dangerous setting, with men who were not part of the production coming to blows over my head, where audience members carried me away, and where for a second, the audience didn't know I was acting. And for a second, I wasn't acting. This theatre has power. It has a message that needs to be told. And God is calling me to London to give my life for his work. Not just to do short term missions. Not just to disciple here, in my home. But to go to this people group with this message. I would love if you would all pray for me. I am terrified and excited and nervous. My family is not thrilled with this idea, and they don't know the half of it yet.

RC Sherriff: the journey ends
Made by Peter Denton
RC Sherriff’s magnificent anti-war play, Journey’s End, is currently enjoying a well-deserved revival in London’s West End. Having been knocked sideways by the play, I realised I knew little about this English playwright – so I was interested to discover that he was born in Hampton Wick, just a couple of miles from where I live. So I took myself off to 2 Seymour Road, to photograph his birthplace. And this is what I found – sadly, Sherriff’s own Journey’s End. Born in 1896, he was badly wounded at Passchendaele in 1917, and was awarded the Military Cross. Journey’s End, which he wrote in 1928, is directly based on his war experience... little wonder, then, that it’s such a powerful, impassioned, deeply moving piece of work. As well as plays, Sherriff also wrote poetry, novels and screenplays – not least The Dam Busters, The Invisible Man and Goodbye, Mr Chips. He died in 1975… and his birthplace died in 2011.

Les Amants
Made by ljosberinn
Inspired by Magritte's work of the same name. I always wondered what it would be like if the lovers acted more like lovers. Did this for a school project, where we had to pick an artwork and reproduce it in our own style. This is also my first time in a real studio guys! It was awesome, I can't wait to go again. Am hoping to get there on Monday actually, but we'll see. The absolutely wonderful models are Kerry Miranda and Bukky Oni who not only did not mind at all their faces would be covered but were also incredibly creative with posing, despite the heat I imagine must've been nigh unbearable. I hardly had to direct them at all, every pose I could have imagined, they did before I mentioned it. I have about a dozen pictures from this shoot I'm itching to share but I'll have to do it later. Really have to sleep now.

Conway Hunt, Ottershaw BML870A 1963 Bedford VAL14 Plaxton C52F working London Transport route 285 in Clarence Street, Kingston
Made by Mega Anorak
In early 1966, following the imposition of an overtime ban by platform staff London Transport management withdrew temporarily a substantial number of bus services with the objective of securing more reliable operation on the remainder. As the dispute lengthened, LT announced that it would not object to the granting of temporary licences for the operation of withdrawn routes by other operators. Conway Hunt of Ottershaw took up the 285, New Malden - Heathrow Airport although only an hourly headway was scheduled. Here on of his Bedfords is seen jostling for position in the mayhem of Clarence Street, Kingston on a Saturday afternoon; a location where buses may no longer be seen, since the Borough finally engineered traffic out of this end of Clarence Street in the mid-ninties.

Levitation act III
Made by Arthur & Ursula
Trying to get into my levitation photos again, I want to do a lot of them so I have a better chance at getting one Im really happy about. This was just mucking around before I took some film photos today, Im really excited about them, I shot two rolls, one in colour that I wont get back till monday afternoon, and a black and white one that Im going to try and develop before work tomorrow morning. I cant decide on how to title these bits of work with the tree, a friend of mine told me the tree is actually a spruce too.. so that doesn't help either.. But it was based on a valentines I made last year that said I'm pining for you that I'd lino-printed on the front.

SM27 (AML27H) from Fulwell Garage in Clarence Street Kingston on Route 281
Made by Mega Anorak
From 1970 onwards, London Transport adopted a policy of operating a number of double-deck routes on Sundays with OMO single deckers. At this time the 281 was still operated Mon - Sat with Routemasters, but on Sundays there were SM's spare from Route 90 and so they were deployed instead. At least passengers didn't have the self-service ticket machines to fight with. SM27 is seen directly opposite Kingston Bus Station when it was still located at the top end of Clarence Street, which at the time was looking distinctly down-at-heel. A refurbished Green Line RF on Route 714 may be seen emerging from under the railway bridge in the background.

i in the sky
Made by Jacqui Brown
Spotted this guy just chilling, surveying the crowds.. I like gulls.. perhaps not as much as black birds/crows/ravens, but they're pretty rad. (as long as their not flapping their wing gunk onto me, or trying to steal food from my hands, we're cool) I've missed flickr! I'm a bit of a no technology while on holiday kinda gal, being a web designer makes extended screen/email/tech brakes absolutely essential I reckon.. But it's hard sometimes.. especially playing catch up! *sigh* the world waits for no one.. I'll be around to inspect everyone's streams soon. Hope you're all well! *wonders off to make a cup of tea and crawl into bed*

RM670 (WLT670) on Route 14 + RT1084 (JXN112) on Route 200 at Wood Street Stand, Kingston
Made by Mega Anorak
A bleak January afternoon in Kingston at a time when the Sunday bus map could look very different to that for the rest of the week. Route 14 is extended from Putney in place of the 85, thereby providing Kingston with its only through red bus service to the West End albeit on a day when the stores are closed; this particular bus is going only as far as Putney anyway, presumably returning to Chelverton Road Garage. The operation of Route 200 over Coombe Lane from Raynes Park is also a Sundays-only activity, and it appears that Merton Garage doesn't even have a blind to cover the situation. Both extensions were discontinued in 1971.

Richmond Park
Made by Arpita Basu
My favourite place to photograph deer is the Richmond Park. I have not uploaded a deer photo in a while. Went back to my lovely friends in the weekend and got lucky yet again. This photo is a re-upload. I have been all fingers and thumbs lately and have accidentally deleted my previous upload. Along with it went all those precious comments and faves. I sincerely apologise to all of you who took out time from your busy schedule to look at my photos and comment on them. While I cannot garuntee not being clumsy yet again, I sure shall promise you that I will give it my full try. :) I value your comments and inputs immensely.

Dan Collins - Royal Lu Kang Gap
Made by SamCooperPhotography
Day two had some what of a false start, first spot was a bust and a sudden down pour made sure that spot two was not happening. We made our way back to kingston leaving the bad weather behind us. The plan of hitting up this naughty spot which was made up of a short black rail with a lengthy gap down one step, after a few attempts Dan banged out this Front Royal Lu Kang out at mac ten with miles of style. Shot with a Sigma 10mm fisheye and lit with two Canon 540EZ's, one positioned to my right at 1/8 the power to freeze the action and one to the far left at 1/4 with a diffusers as to light the scene a little....

Cocktail
Made by conorwithonen
Cocktails being served in Roz-Ana - a new Indian restaurant in Kingston-upon-Thames in London. Strobist Elinchrom RX600 into Rotalux softbox high camera left. SB800 with Honl snoot on bar behind model as hairlight. All triggered with Pocketwizards. A bit of cloning in PS to skin, rest shot out of camera. Mark is the actual barman, not a model and was a pleasure to work with. I won't bother posting setup shot as these don't seem to be in vogue any more. The Original size is uploaded so you can see the detail in hair, eyes, shirt etc., but you may just like looking

RT2402 (KLB781) in Villiers Road, Kingston on Route 65
Made by Mega Anorak
For many years Route 65 ran from Ealing, Argyle Road to Leatherhead, and I have been given to understand that it was the longest route in the Central Area. Therefore it always seemed a bit odd that between Kingston and Surbiton it took a long detour around Villiers Road. Here RT2402 has dropped some customers off outside the Vine Products factory that like most major manufacturing enterprises subsequently left the area. Today the 65 does not run south of Kingston, and its replacement the 71 to Chessington runs direct to Surbiton leaving Villiers Road to be served by local Routes K1 & K4.

Made by photo hayes
I quite like the result of this idea. To make it I used one small green army toy, fake fur, match sticks, blue tac, an open window and a wide aperture. When creating this, I had in mind memories of a few films from the World War 2 and American western genres, I wanted to generate a similar feel. By silhouetting the toy and grave stones, the character appears slightly mysterious and makes the observer question his role. Additional to this I wanted the observer to do a second take and realise the scene above isn't real (as opposed to noticing it straight away). I hope you like it...

Bentalls Centre
Made by David Yates
Made up of 12 individual pictures. There are various ghosts where the images have been blended - this is a fault really but I quite like it....it adds a bit of interest to what is otherwise just a shopping centre! I wish I'd tilted up and shot higher into the roof but easy to say after the event....oh and Bentalls security felt the need to feel my shoulder about taking pics. so I'm not sure if I'll try again. Light isn't too bad for 16:30 on a Februrary afternoon....I like the orange of the Bentalls Centre lights and the blue of the sky reflected off the escalators.

Me and my precious.
Made by robynne faye
Had to get my new hat it. I simply adore it... as I do many things in life. I was also playing around with manual focus instead of just using automatic [which is aften far too tempting... but then I ruined the photo while editing it making it pixelated... anyway I still like it [ and i have some tort law to read so haven't got time i edit it all again ] Also I love the way my eyes are actually directly into the photograph... if you get me. It was the first shot as well. pleased? moi? very! [if you think i sound like a novice thats because I am... so :P]

God
Made by ljosberinn
I spend the time I wait thinking, about God, the universe and me. A holy trinity, united in my whispered words of prayer and I feel the light of Him shining down on me. It's not a light others can see, but it shines right into my heart, illuminating everything around me. Suddenly I can appreciate the world and I feel light and young again. Every passing stranger seems a source of endless happiness and life itself seems full and precious. I suppose this is what Heaven feels like. I know you're coming for me. I can wait.

Dan Collins - Front Royal Mute 270
Made by SamCooperPhotography
Feeling a little worse for wear from the previous night I finally manged to get up and out a lot later than planned to start shooting for what would become Dan's kingdom Mag profile. As soon as we had a little warm up we made our way to the first spot , Dan lashed a front royal all the way around the corner and down the steps on the second or third go! It was then simply a matter of capturing it, shot with a nikkor 50mm and lit up with two Canon 540EZ's at 1/4 the power, both positioned off to the left of the camera

Dan Collins - Launch to Fishbrain
Made by SamCooperPhotography
....With one shot down on this spot and stupid drunk bitches gathering around the corner I some how manged to convince Dan to lace a Rocket Fishbrain, and again the goods were provided to wrap up a very successfull first days shoot. Shot with a Nikkor 50mm and lit with two Canon 540EZ's, one off to the right set at 1/2 the power and the other just off to my left at 1/4 the power and both with diffusers......
